Intended Use
Heart Check is a patient education resource designed to help people understand their cardiovascular risk and the steps they can take to reduce it.
This site is intended to:
Help patients understand their QRISK3 score, cholesterol results, and lifestyle changes that can reduce heart disease risk. It supports informed conversations with healthcare professionals.
This site does NOT: Provide diagnoses, replace medical advice, recommend stopping or changing medications, or collect personal health data. Always discuss your results and any concerns with your GP or healthcare team.
Clinical Safety
Heart Check is developed and maintained by Dr Krishnan Pasupathi, an NHS GP Partner with 29 years of clinical experience. All content follows NHS clinical safety standards.

A clinical hazard log is maintained and reviewed regularly. Content is reviewed by qualified healthcare professionals before publication.
Content Quality
All clinical content on Heart Check:
- Is written or reviewed by a qualified NHS clinician
- Uses UK NHS terminology and reference ranges
- References NICE guidelines and NHS sources
- Is written in plain English (reading age 11-12)
- Includes clear "when to seek help" guidance
- Is reviewed and updated regularly
Last content review
January 2026. Content is reviewed at least annually or when clinical guidelines change.
Privacy & Data
Heart Check respects your privacy:
- We do not collect personal health information
- We do not require registration or login
- We use Vercel Analytics for anonymous usage statistics only
- No data is shared with third parties for marketing
Any values you enter in interactive tools (like the risk visualiser) are processed locally in your browser and are not sent to any server.
Analytics
We use privacy-friendly analytics to understand which pages are helpful. This data is anonymised and cannot identify you personally.
